Spring is a great time to lift your body’s spirits- a time of rejuvenation and rebirth. Free yourself from the burdens of a long winter and emerge revitalized.  Winter often steers us away from our usual intake of fresh produce and whole foods. It happens, but if poor food choices persist, the body rebels. Detox diets have been a Hollywood fad for years. However, they aren’t just for young starlets or leading men. Detoxifying one’s body is a promising way of getting back on that wagon and flushing bodily toxins acquired through dietary and lifestyle contaminants, and spring is the perfect time to turn over a new, freshly blossoming, leaf.

Yesterday, Toshiba ended its manufacture of mass-market incandescent light bulbs–bulbs that use a ton of energy, burn out quickly and pale in comparison in terms of energy efficiency to CFLs and LEDs. The move ends the company’s 120-year history of incandescent bulb production. The decision signals that the lighting industry is poised to become significantly greener.

Sanyo Installs Solar Parking Lots to Power 100 Electric Hybrid Bicycles Print E-mail

Sanyo, the Japanese electronics giant announced the opening of two solar parking lots in Tokyo yesterday. Installed in the city of Setagaya at Keio Line Sakurajosui Station and Tokyu Den-en Toshi Line Sakurashinmachi Station, these lots are capable of recharging 100 electric hybrid bicycles using solar energy. Each station contains a combination of solar panels and lithium-ion battery system to charge 100 of Sanyo’s “eneloop” bikes, in addition to powering the LED lights that illuminate the parking lot at night.

A ’supermoto’ model and an ‘enduro’: both weigh under 200 lb and are zero-emission. Conjointly dubbed as Freeride, the first images of these prototypes were first spotted on Motorcycle.com. KTM hasn’t revealed much about the specifications except that enduro is a “ready to race” sport motorcycle ‘with the performance of a small displacement combustion motorcycle.’ The manufacturer hopes to hit the production lines soon.

Keep your eyes peeled for this police car in your rear view mirror – the Ford Interceptor, which is a completely badass upgrade from the out-of-date Crown Victoria. Ford debuted its new model last Friday and will soon be rolling these babies off the line and into the hands of police officers all over the country. The Interceptor is based on the Ford Taurus, but designed especially for cops with new safety features and is 25% more fuel efficient.

The contract construction fabricates the Th!nk City, the Garia golfcart and will soon furnish Fisker with the Karma. The Eva concept features an attractive 2+2 form built on an advanced aluminum space frame.
