In the midst of your busy world – getting the kids to school, keeping the house organized, making sure your job and finances are secure – wouldn’t you like to take a Mediterranean vacation? Well, financially speaking most of us probably could not afford a luxury like that. Maybe we could look at this from a different viewpoint. How about a Mediterranean vacation for your body? Medical researchers have long been intrigued by the continuing good health and longevity of people living in the Mediterranean coastal region. These people exude such continuing good health and durability that the medical and nutritional communities were very intrigued. They wondered just why there could be such a disparity health wise between those living in that region and those living in other parts of the world.

Whoops: There’s a fire on an oil rig in the Gulf. Like the Yogi Berra malapropism, it’s déjà vu all over again.
From NOLA:
The Coast Guard is responding to a report of a rig explosion and fire “and people in the water” in the Gulf of Mexico south of Vermilion Bay, authorities said.

I’ve discovered I am a better parent to my Molson than I am to my other children. It’s a harsh truth to become aware of, an even harsher truth to admit to one self and an even harder truth to put down in print! While always priding myself on being a compassionate loving person apparently I am not as open as I always thought I was. At least not with people, to Molson and my Dawn before him and Tawny before her I have always had these long open, no holds bar conversations, something I don’t do with anyone not my children not even my husband. Oh I tell him things but with Molson I tell him everything I don’t censure one iota!

In a recent study by the University of California, antibiotics given to cows were traced throughout their waste stream. Although not the first study to be done on the extensive use of antibiotics, especially on dairy cows, this study found that most antibiotics broke down before reaching ground water. This is good news for individuals who use well-water and live near dairy operations. The study did not look into the effects on surface water, marine life, or other species and areas of the environment impacted by the antibiotics.

When dreaming up their tabletop aesthetic, many hostesses immediately imagine brightly colored blooming flowers as part of the repertoire. However, fresh green ferns lend a light, crisp tropical feel to any table. When using ferns aim to keep things simple. Just a few sprigs of fern look modern when paired with glass containers, clean white linens and just a few earth-colored accents, such as a burlap runner.
